Privacy Policy

This explains what TierChat (tierchat.ai), operated by Edamame Labs, collects and how it's used. TierChat is only for people 18 or older (see our Terms).

What we collect

• Your email address, when you log in, plus a session cookie that keeps you logged in (up to 30 days). For security, each login session also records the IP address and browser it came from.
• What you submit: the topics and contenders you enter, and the tier lists generated from them, linked to your account. These are public.
• How you found us and roughly where you are: on your first visit we store the referring site, landing page and any campaign tags in a cookie (tc_src, 30 days). When you make a tier list we save those, plus your approximate country and city (derived from your IP address by our host), with it. We don't store your IP address with it.
• “Make your own” tier lists: your browser keeps a random ID and your choices locally; if you lock one in, we store it with that random ID (not your account) and show it only as part of anonymous crowd results.
• Usage analytics: aggregated, cookieless page-view statistics (Vercel Web Analytics), and standard server logs.

How we use it

To run TierChat, log you in, publish and show tier lists, keep content appropriate and prevent abuse, and understand how people find and use the site. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• AI model providers: the topic and contenders you submit are sent (through OpenRouter) to Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Meta and DeepSeek to generate the tier list. Your email and location are not sent to them. Don't put personal information in a topic.
• Service providers that run TierChat for us: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Neon (database), and Resend (sending login codes).
• Everyone: published tier lists are public.
• When required by law, or to protect TierChat and its users.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep account data while your account exists, and published tier lists until they're removed. To delete your account and your personal data, or to ask what we hold about you, email admin@edamamelabs.com. Published tier lists may stay up without being linked to you.

Under 18s

TierChat is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.

We'll update this page when our practices change; the date above shows the latest version.
